In our adventures over many years Alex was the best of companions. Extrovert in the extreme, life around her could never be classed as boring! The happiest time in her life was when she was teaching, a fitting reward for all the sacrifices and effort made to gain her Degree. She was held in high regard by colleagues, children and Parents, she had found her true vocation. My thoughts go out to her family, with my best wishes. From Vic

My lovely Nanna, Reading your eulogy makes me proud of how fiercely independent you were. It’s amazing to reflect on your life as a mother now I’m about to become a mother myself, our family is full of strong women, I started in your womb and we’ll always have that connection. I will think of your strength and resilience when I’m giving birth. Not only were you strong, but you also had a soft side and the softest skin, something that is easily remembered as your grandchild from all the hugs you supplied us with. I’ll never forget your laugh; loudest when I collected what I thought was a selection of bulbs from your garden, and whilst sat in the car ready to head home, we realised I had a handful of cat poos instead. I’ll think of us as we’ve spent many nights together; tucked up in your bed with the electric blanket on, doing the crossword. Thank you for all the love you showered on me, it’ll never be forgotten. Hi Alex was my youngest sister and very dear to me, my wife Anne and I used to visit her on regular occasions throughout the year and enjoyed her lively and out going personality always ready for a laugh or an adventure such as visiting every charity shop in a fifty mile radius of anywhere. She was generous to a fault and very loving she was also blessed with a hardy constitution and even in her later years was rarely ill and unlike most OAPs took no regular medication so her sudden illness and passing was quite a shock. I loved my sister and know she will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Alex all my love Henry.

Being with Nanna was always a home away from home for me. She always made me feel loved and welcomed, she always encouraged me to be inquisitive and caring, and helped foster my love for nature and the outdoors, and for home made special fried rice <3 I remember when I used to have to go back home from Nanna's house, I'd often cry until I was allowed to go back and say goodbye again because it never felt like enough. Thanks to that, when I grew up I always made sure to give her the biggest squeeze when I had to leave. Thank you for all of the hugs and love you always gave me. Dear Nana, You always had the brightest smile in a room and the loudest laugh! You could make a joke out of any subject, and had such a witty sense of humour. I wish you could know how much I appreciate all the times you acted selflessly to help and guide me when I needed it the most. Alex was always spunky and free spirited. She always saw the best in people even with their differences. I'll never forget her and how she impacted my life. She will forever be like the fun loving aunt I never had. Rest well, dear Alex, and rest easy now. Willow loves you so much and will always remember you, she's happy and safe and will remain with me for the rest of her days, having all the love, fuss and treats she could ever need.
